HD Greenscreen test

Tried to shoot a greenscreen test for Unidentified, and it came out ok, the top of my head is messed up because my hair stuck out over the top of the greenscreen.

Script & storyboards

The script has been semi-extensively re-written as the ending has completely changed, and other ideas and tidbits have been peppered about. I'm still worried that its not that funny though. The script runs at around 95 pages now.

As I'm storyboarding I'm changing the script, as when you have to visually think about things in order to draw them, parts of the script end up not making sense, so you have to figure it out, storyboard it, then re-write the wording in script. There is a rough 2 minute animatic of the first scene cut together, and the next scene is nearly finished.

Storyboard for Scene 1, Shot 1

Poster One-Sheet

This was made in a rush, but it turned out pretty well.

Virtual props

The UFO has undergone some aesthetic detail updating. The lights underneath can be animated as opposed to the ugly static light housings that were there before. All of the mapping for the exterior of the ship has been changed as well. A proper "door" has been mapped to the bottom, as well as different features leading to the door.

CGI Prop - "Reddy Fox Farm" sign. Because I can't afford to make a real one.
There's also a CGI mailbox that will be inserted into a scene in the film so I don't have to worry about that either. However, it has no mapping as of yet.

HD?

Saw video has a new Sony PMW-EX1 camera package for rent. I thought I might rent it to shoot some scenes at the end of the month, but then again, I am pretty broke, so the XL1s might have to do.

First Draft '77

Well, the first draft is finished, along with a few minor changes here and there. IT clocks in at about 77 pages, and is close to what I wanted, but its not quite exactly there yet. Due to the nature of low budgets, it's fairly full of talk, so the talk will probably have to be funnier. Funny is free.

Give him a hand

I tried making a replacement CGI hand, it it came out OK for a first time effort, but not particularly good. Something to work on..
